Open-ended

In poker, four cards in a row that need either one higher or lower to complete a straight. (_,6,7,8,9,_) Opposite of gut-shot (four out of five cards in a row that are missing the center number). Open-ended straight draws have better odds because there are eight cards that can make your straight. Gut-shots are less likely to suceed because there are only four cards that can help you.
